As part of the three-year program "SDDH Support Center" funded by the Ministry of Labor, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, the SDDH expert mobile team visited the Association of People with Muscular Dystrophy of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
Psychologist Dragana Budimir gave a lecture on the topic of "Communication Skills" to the members of the association, presenting the principles, significance and purpose of communication, the communication process, types of communication, the role of communication in business and private relationships, and methods by which everyday communication can be improved, with special emphasis on assertive communication style and active listening skills.
Physiotherapist Slobodan Marinković carried out spirometric measurements of respiratory functions and held consultations with members of the association related to, while social worker Mirna Plećaš Ilić held discussions with users on issues related to the upcoming Law on Inclusive Addiction, the first in the employment relationship and other social issues.
As part of the visit, a Support Group for people with MD was held, during which Slobodan Marinković, a physiotherapist at SDDH, discussed with the beneficiaries the implementation of physiotherapy and other rehabilitation activities. Through the discussion, the participants particularly exchanged experiences related to the respiratory difficulties they face and the ways in which they alleviate them (breathing exercises, pulmonary controls, use of non-invasive ventilation, expectoration devices and other respiratory therapy devices).
